Found and Recycled Sculpture

A fun introduction to 3D art that will focus on using recyclable and found materials such as cardboard, wood, and a variety of found objects that students can pick up to make unique and fun sculptures. Science and creativity merge in an exciting new course. Students will learn a unique skillset. They will be guided through three different soap making processes, learning about the chemical reactions that result in the cleaning product. This is an ALL DAY course. Nanotechnology is designing machinery smaller than the thickness of a hair. It’s the manipulation of atoms and seeing their crazy properties. Scuba Diving FULL

This course is designed to give a basic introduction to scuba diving. Students will receive a PADI Seal Team certification after completing several seal team missions in the pool. Fee includes video, book and certification paperwork. Bring suit and towel.

A perfect match for any nature lover, this course, focusing on the importance biodiversity and conservation, will inform students about ecological principles. Journey to the Land of Egypt

Get ready to make an artistic journey to the land of Egypt. We will begin with a tour of the Ancient pyramids. We will learn about and create life size sarcophagi which will be enchanting and amazing at the same time.  We will learn about and sculpt King Tut and Queen Nefertiti masks using metallic paints and colors.  We will also learn the art of hieroglyphics and create pictures by using our own names written in the Egyptian art form.  At the end of their trip, students will have an amazing gallery show in which friends and family are invited to view the awesome artwork!

Edible Wild Plants

Need some quick carbs during a prairie hike? Or want to numb that aching tooth? This course will introduce you to the process for learning how to identify plants.  We will practice this by, first, identifying some of the common edible and/or medicinal plants found in our area, then sampling some of our discoveries.

Glass Bead Making

Glass bead making is an ancient art that has been practiced for more than 3,000 years. Making your own beads allows you to get creative and rock your style. Mobile Sculpture

These sculptures take advantage of the principle of equilibrium. Based on color theory, we are going to make abstract and realistic objects, which are going to be attached by wire, strings, into wires, dowels, etc creating balanced parts capable of moving independently or as a whole when prompted by air movement or direct contact. They can be designed for any space or room!
